How to Tell a Story

Time to read: 2 min min

In the latest edition of Frank Talk, I had the pleasure of discussing storytelling under the title ‘How to Tell a Story.’ I talk not only about the benefits of having a strong story but also about how you can create your own.

It’s well-known—and even scientifically proven—that stories stick with listeners and are an unbeatable way to create engagement. Whether they’re personal stories or your company’s stories, they can also be used internally to strengthen work culture, build more resource-efficient teams, and foster psychological safety.

A line with three bumps where it says story below each bump.

In my talk, I discuss five techniques that you can start using immediately to enhance your story:

• Desire

• What’s at stake

• Use your senses

• Be specific

• Tell your main scene in the present tense

The presentation is twenty minutes long, followed by many relevant questions from the event participants.

Luckily, my Frank Talk ‘How to Tell a Story’ was recorded. So, click in and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like help developing your company’s storytelling culture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfNtyvRDfGw
